The Under-cart Towing Robot is a specialized industrial autonomous vehicle designed to pull or push carts, pallets, and transport equipment within factory and logistics warehouse environments. With automated, stable, and precise operation, it plays a vital role in the internal transportation automation strategy of manufacturing enterprises.

What is the ITA-01 Towing Robot?

  • It is a compact, multi-functional AGV robot. The vehicle maneuvers underneath the cart and connects via one or two integrated towing pins on its chassis.
  • Single-pin connection: (Figure 2) The AGV automatically connects to the cart with one pin, pulling the load similar to a standard pulling-type AGV.
  • Double-pin connection: (Figure 3) Two pins connect to the cart, creating a unified system. The AGV directly governs the navigation and movement of the cart.
  • The vehicle supports bidirectional movement (forward and backward) along a guided path.

Key Features and Advantages

  • Increased Productivity and Efficiency: The towing AGV can pull or push pallets and equipment simultaneously, optimizing the material flow between different production stages.

  • Time and Labor Savings: The robot performs transport tasks continuously and accurately without human intervention, reducing dependence on manual labor and saving long-term operational costs.

  • Autonomous, Stable, and Safe Operation: Operates on pre-programmed routes to ensure synchronized movement with the production line, minimizing errors and enhancing occupational safety in industrial environments.

  • Internal Logistics Optimization: Utilizing towing robots helps enterprises standardize transport processes and reduce manual handling, thereby improving production management and control.

Disadvantages:

  • Higher investment cost compared to conventional models.
  • The ground clearance of the transport cart must be higher than the AGV's height.
  • Since it connects automatically, the cart must be positioned with high precision.

Typical Applications of Under-cart Towing Robots

  • Raw Material and Finished Goods Transport: Used to rapidly and accurately move materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished products between production areas, warehouses, and assembly lines.

  • Sorting and Categorization: Pulls carts from collection points to various sorting locations based on product type, processing stage, or packaging area.

  • Processing Support: Assists in moving goods through machining stations, surface treatment, or production machinery (cutting, grinding, finishing), ensuring a continuous production flow.

  • Inbound Logistics: Tows goods from trucks, containers, or pallets into the warehouse system or production line, shortening handling time and reducing workplace accident risks.

  • Packaging and Outbound: Supports the transport of goods from the packaging area to the dispatch zone, ensuring the delivery preparation process is fast, accurate, and synchronized.

  • Assembly Line Support: Tows component carts from the material warehouse to specific assembly stations, ensuring Just-In-Time (JIT) supply and maintaining a steady production pace.
